That’s a relevant fact here, it is not an attack on the judge or certainly his family. No one is suggesting that anything should happen to the judge or his family, and President Trump’s comments did not in any way, shape or form.

The entirety of the prosecution’s case file will soon have to be turned over to the defense, prosecutors don’t want it made public because they’re focused on the proceedings and know Trump will try this in the court of public opinion way before any trial in a court. That’s where the integrity of the proceedings can get really dicey – and that’s what they’re trying to accomplish with a protective order.

Certainly, the Court would not impose a gag order at this time even if it were requested, such restraints are the most serious and least intolerable on First Amendment rights. That does apply doubly to Mr. Trump, because he is a candidate for the presidency of the United States.

He’s almost daring the judge, ultimately though, as much as the threats and other rhetoric in my view are far over the line, I think that the judge is unlikely to impose a gag order, given the normal First Amendment concerns multiplied by Donald Trump’s ongoing candidacy.

Even if a case was tried in a part of the country where Donald Trump is n’t very popular, statistically Jennifer Rodgers are very likely to end up with one or more Donald Trump voters on the jury of 12 people, a judge would tell jurors to put aside their political views and personal beliefs — but I know from my days as a prosecutor that jurors are human beings, not robots — they’re subject to the same emotions, biases, and incentives as any person would be. And the legal bar at trial is far higher than in the grand jury ….

[ Merchan ] does n’t let the prosecutors or the defendants create any issues in Judge Merchan courtroom. Judge Merchan does n’t let a media circus or any other kind of circus happen. I do n’t think Donald Trump attacking Donald Trump and threatening Donald Trump is going to bode very well for Donald Trump in the courtroom, the judge is the kind of judge where he will ignore it and not hold it against Donald Trump. He’s not vindictive in any way like that.

Mr. Weisselberg’s decision to change lawyers was entirely his own, a decision which I understand Mr. Weisselberg made in consultation with his family after the conclusion of the trial. but I do know that neither (Trump Org. executive) Alan Garten nor I had any role in Mr. Weisselberg’s decision to leave Nick Gravante nor his decision to hire Seth Rosenberg, whom Mr. Weisselberg and his family found without any input from Alan Garten or me.

I mean, it’s remarkable when you talk about the president of the United States, but it, honestly, it’s not remarkable when you’re talking about Donald Trump, the president of the United States, no one was here, is going, ‘Oh my God, I can’t believe this!’ This is why I’ve been saying since day one if they had just said, ‘Yeah, OK.’ I mean, he survived much greater – I don’t even know if they’re called scandals – but episodes than this. This is from 2006. I mean, this is way before he was the president.
