Having the private data of citizens, people who have been able to get the permits … these are judges, law enforcement, domestic violence victims who were able to get that permit, to then put that information on the internet and allow anyone to have access to someone’s private data and address? This is one of the many tremendous failings of the Attorney General and his office. The fact they tried to quickly tried to take it off didn’t erase the error. I hope there is an investigation of the department of justice and Rob Bonta to find out how this happened and make sure it doesn’t happen again.

If someone feels the right to go into a business or a coliseum or an arena [ while concealed carrying ], then there's going to be an argument, then law enforcement will have to respond and try to de-escalate. This is just another layer of difficulty for them because it's hard to understand who has a gun, who doesn't have a gun and then having people who are not trained.

We're neutral. Law enforcement, neutral. Politicians come and go, and when it's all said and done, law enforcement is still here. We're the ones that [ are ] still standing, we, as a profession, have done things to get in our own way, so I can understand the calls for reform accountability and … rethinking public safety and how and why we do things — totally get that. … But does it make sense to say, ‘ We want you to have more training, and we want you to have more equipment, and we want you to anticipate the trends and patterns of the future, ’ and then defend us at the same time ? Absolutely, that makes no sense.

It was something like I had seen out of the movies, i couldn't believe my eyes : There were officers on the ground. They were bleeding. They were throwing up. I saw friends with blood all over their faces. I was slipping in people's blood. I was catching people as they fell. It was carnage. It was chaos. I can't even describe what I saw. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that as a police officer, as a law enforcement officer, I would find myself in the middle of a battle.
