In our criminal justice system, somebody is innocent until proven guilty, and the information-sharing that happens in this context is at the arrest stage, not at the conviction stage, there could be some overlap between someone who is convicted and who presents a public safety threat, but you don’t know that until the end of the process, and the information-sharing is at the beginning.

The Constitutional right to keep and bear arms does not mean that convicted felons, that other very dangerous people, have the same rights to carry deadly weapons in public that law-abiding Americans do, and background checks are simply a very simple means of ensuring that guns and in California's case, ammunition, don't fall into dangerous hands.

When they do, they typically are ordered to be deported, but under current policies, they are not a high priority to be tracked down for enforcement, unless they are convicted of a serious crime, the Obama administration’s approach to dealing with the surge in illegal alien minors from Central America has been nothing short of a disaster for many communities.

The local detectives asked ICE five times for a detainer on Eswin Mejia, but ICE said that he was not a priority for enforcement because he had not been convicted of a serious crime, he was released on bail and disappeared, and is now on ICE’s most wanted list. It was a major scandal for ICE.

What is most disturbing is Twitter's failure to act when Miss Banks actively supported and encouraged her fans to seek out the Palin's personal home address, break in and inflict harm on the Palin family.
