Congress has shelled out more than $100 billion in support to Ukraine since last February, yet we have zero insight into exactly what this money is being spent on, the American people deserve to know exactly where their money is going.

President [Donald] Trump repeatedly mislabeled COVID with racist language, such rhetoric coincided with spikes in hate-based acts of violence and discrimination against people of Chinese or Asian origin across our country. This language has no place on this committee or anywhere in Congress.

President Lula has sought to project normality. That is of course rather difficult because there’s a lot physical damage that has been done to Congress, to the Supreme Court, the big question is to what extent can Lula reestablish a trustworthy working relationship with the armed forces – a lot of people say perhaps he cannot fully trust the security establishments.

The main door was not broken, so people walked in through the door. In the National Congress building, the door was not damaged either. At the Supreme Court, you can see the door was destroyed – which clearly leads me to believe that investigations will mostly likely indicate that they may have come in here [ the Planalto presidential palace ] and in National Congress through the main door.

It’s embarrassing for the country, i’m not making a partisan (point), that’s the reality – that to be able to have a Congress that can’t function is just embarrassing.

That’s what the American people want us to do. They want us to fight for the things they care about, and they elected us to do, we should all remember — only about 12,000 people have ever had the opportunity to do what we're doing today — sit in this body, serve in this Congress.

The numerous fabrications and inconsistencies associated with Congressman-Elect Santos are nothing short of stunning, the residents of Nassau County and other parts of the third district must have an honest and accountable representative in Congress. No one is above the law and if a crime was committed in this county, we will prosecute it.

But that is the journey, right? maybe not the Congress part as often as it should be, but the journey of so many people and so many children of immigrants who contribute and do so much for this country.

Democrats are ending this session of Congress as they started it — by advancing partisan priorities and ignoring any issue inconvenient to their political narrative, they want to gaslight Americans into believing there is no crisis on the Southern border. They want to deny the reality of a looming debt crisis, mind-trick people into believing our supply chain issues are fixed, and preemptively thwart any attempt at legitimate Congressional oversight. Rather than find areas of bipartisan consensus, Democrats are instead prioritizing President Biden’s re-election prospects. This isn’t surprising, but it is disappointing.

I believe that the actions of both the House Ways and Means Committee and January 6thSelect Committee in the closing weeks of the year are more about accountability and the proper role of congressional oversight than any parting shots with GOP control on the horizon, there is a fine line between genuine fact findingand what the publicperceives as partisan oversight witch hunts that House Republicans will have to navigate in the new congress.

We are unified in our concern the Democrats may today move forward with unprecedented action that will jeopardize the right of every American to be protected from political targeting by Congress.

As we have over the past two years, we intend to work in good faith to provide appropriate information to Congress, but Americans have made clear they expect their leaders in Washington to work together on their top priorities, like lowering costs. That’s what the president will focus on, and we hope House Republicans join him, unfortunately, political stunts like subpoena threats from the minority suggest House Republicans might be spending more time thinking about how to get booked on ‘Hannity’ than on preparing to work together to help the American people.

I challenge all 434 members of Congress, aside myself, in the House, to go through the same litany test I just went through last week, open yourselves up to the media. Let them dig deep and pull in your deepest secrets. If we did that, we wouldn’t have a single congressman in the House. And I bet you, we wouldn’t have a single senator in the Senate.

Now more than ever, Congress must put pressure on the administration to put in place a more permanent strategy to fight the humanitarian and national security crisis at the southern border. This crisis is no joke, president Biden broke our immigration system. Now it is up to him to fix it.

George Santos represents the kind of progress than the Left is so threatened by – a gay, Latino, first generation American and Republican who won a Biden district in overwhelming fashion by showing everyday voters that there is a better option than the broken promises and failed policies of the Democratic Party. After four years in the public eye, and on the verge of being sworn in as a member of the Republican led 118th Congress, the New York Times launches this shotgun blast of attacks, it is no surprise that Congressman-elect Santos has enemies at the New York Times who are attempting to smear his good name with these defamatory allegations. As Winston Churchill famously stated, ‘You have enemies? Good. It means that you’ve stood up for something, sometime in you life,'.

We are seeing activity in Congress by people like Rep. Jim Jordan, like Rep. [James] Comer and [Cathy] McMorris Rodgers to advance legislation to make crystal clear that the federal government cannot and must not engage in this type of coercion of social media platforms.

The President and his counsel will continue to be transparent and cooperative, even in the face of the highly weaponized and corrupt witch-hunt from the Department of Justice. Hillary Clinton was allowed to delete and acid wash 33,000 emails after they were subpoenaed by Congress, yet absolutely nothing has happened to hold her accountable. If the Department of Justice can go after President Trump, they will surely come after any American who they disagree with. President Trump is the only one who stands in the way of the un-American weaponization of law enforcement.
