Wikipedia

  1. primary atypical pneumonia

Atypical pneumonia, also known as walking pneumonia, is any type of pneumonia not caused by one of the pathogens most commonly associated with the disease. Its clinical presentation contrasts to that of "typical" pneumonia. A variety of microorganisms can cause it. When it develops independently from another disease, it is called primary atypical pneumonia (PAP). The term was introduced in the 1930s and was contrasted with the bacterial pneumonia caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, at that time the best known and most commonly occurring form of pneumonia. The distinction was historically considered important, as it differentiated those more likely to present with "typical" respiratory symptoms and lobar pneumonia from those more likely to present with "atypical" generalized symptoms (such as fever, headache, sweating and myalgia) and bronchopneumonia.

  1. primary atypical pneumonia

Primary atypical pneumonia, also known as walking pneumonia, is a type of pneumonia, a lung infection, that is typically caused by bacteria like Mycoplasma pneumoniae. It is referred to as "atypical" because its symptoms differ from the typical symptoms of pneumonia caused by other common bacteria. These symptoms tend to be milder and may include cough, sore throat, fatigue, fever, and chest pain among others. It's called "primary" because the infection originates directly in the lungs, rather than being secondary to another disease or condition. Unlike severe pneumonia, walking pneumonia might not require bed rest or hospitalization and patients might continue to walk around and carry out their daily routine, hence the nickname.
