I had a lot of good (approach yardage) numbers where I could go ahead and make a full committed swing, i just dialled my distances in today with the wedges. It worked today. One of my goals was to hit it pin high and I hit it pin high most of the day.

Didn't see the front nine, so I'm pretty pleased with the way I played, it's a bit different when you're playing it blind. Kind of don't know where you're going. Relying a lot on the (yardage) book. I never look at the book.

A kind of second childhood falls on so many men. They trade their violence for the promise of a small increase of lifespan, in effect, the head of the house becomes the youngest child. And I have searched myself for this possibility with a kind of horror. For I have always lived violently, drunk hugely, eaten too much or not at all, slept around the clock or missed two nights of sleeping, worked too hard and too long in glory, or slobbed for a time in utter laziness. I’ve lifted, pulled, chopped, climbed, made love with joy and taken my hangovers as a consequence, not as a punishment. I did not want to surrender fierceness for a small gain in yardage.

I think that was his fault, i pray he’s not hurt, it’s nothing serious, but as a quarterback you should step out of bounds. It’s only an inch. An inch wouldn’t have made a difference. You got the yardage. You need to be smart.

I got my tee out and picked the ball up to clean it, i got my yardage and I go through my normal routine and without even thinking. Michael Kim, Michael Kim, was looking at me funny and I ’m like, ‘ what’s Michael Kim looking at ? ’ and then Michael Kim says to me ‘ what are you doing ? ’ .

My yardage books have always been produced with the aim of helping all players narrow down the exact length they want to hit a shot but this new greens contours book takes it to another level, for the past five years in America my business colleague Mark Long has produced both types of books for players on the U.S. Tour and Justin Rose and Graeme McDowell have persuaded me to see the potential demand of doing them for England Europe.

Having caddied for many top players in the world like Nick Faldo in the 1990s when Nick Faldo in the 1990s was world number one and Colin Montgomerie later on, I appreciate how fine the line is between being a good player and a truly great one, my yardage books have always been produced with the aim of helping all players narrow down the exact length they want to hit a shot but this new greens contours book takes it to another level.

I was intimidated, not necessarily because of the yardage, though because of the greens. They're just so hard to putt. They're big. They're undulating. A flat putt is pretty slow. The ones down grain are super fast. ... It's just hard. You're going to hit a lot of fairways. You're going to hit a lot of greens. And you're going to miss a lot of putts.

The wind was flipping, it was tough to get the right yardage let alone the accuracy, i felt like I really hung in there nicely. To grab five bogeys on a day like today, if I can do that tomorrow I think I will be in good shape.
