.What I found in the intelligence … is that international terror organizations like al Qaeda, ISIS and many others were intentionally creating a gap in our detection capability specific to the dog, they were kind of gearing it to avoid detection by a dog.

When you were asked,' What's the biggest geopolitical threat facing America,' you said' Russia.' Not al Qaeda ; you said Russia, and, the 1980s are now calling to ask for their foreign policy back, because the Cold War's been over for 20 years.

It’s doubtful that it was merely a coincidence, merely a mentally disturbed, emotionally disturbed person who randomly chose a synagogue, this synagogue is in a residential area – you would have to find it. You wouldn’t stumble across it, and there are plenty of synagogues closer to the prison where ‘Lady Al Qaeda’ is being held.

We have seen signs... that the Taliban is wary about Afghanistan being a springboard for al-Qaeda external attacks, not because the Taliban are good guys, but because they fear international retribution if that were to occur.

Finally, despite what some are saying, the war in Afghanistan was never just about killing Osama Bin Laden. The United States was intent on tracking down and eliminating him, but the war in Afghanistan was not about him. The whole purpose of our 20-year effort in Afghanistan was to prevent a resurgence of al-Qaeda and the likelihood of new attacks on the United States and our allies, and to prevent the Taliban from overthrowing the installed government in Kabul. When the U.S. found bin Laden hiding in Pakistan, he was dealt with, but that was not the end of the war. If Kabul falls, because of the U.S. evacuation, both objectives will have failed.

An American priority must be preventing the collapse of the Afghan government, lest the Taliban’s partners, including al Qaeda and other jihadist terrorists, re-establish a base to plan, prepare and direct attacks against the U.S., its allies and others who don’t conform to their perverted interpretation of Islam. Other objectives should include limiting the humanitarian disaster and ensuring that the gains the Afghan people—especially women and girls—made since 2001 aren’t lost.

Some may cite the 2020 U.S.-Taliban agreement as a reason not to take this step. But the Taliban never honored the agreement, continuing to work closely with al Qaeda and intensifying murderous attacks on Afghan civilians. Why should the U.S. adhere to an agreement that the other party has abrogated?

I think we're, you know, we're still seeing how al Qaeda and ISIS are configuring themselves against the Taliban, we're still seeing what the Taliban is going to do, McKenzie said. I would not say I'm confident that that's going to be on the ground yet, we could get to that point, but I do not yet have that level of confidence.

Our mission is to stop Afghanistan from being a base for attacking the homeland and US allies by al Qaeda or other terrorist groups, not to deliver a death blow to the Taliban.

The Taliban, Al-Qaeda and ISIS. Does it really matter what we call these killers? they are all animals from the same family who share a deep hatred for the American people and our way of life. Intelligence backed up by recent video evidence demonstrates that all three of these terrorist groups are alive and well in Afghanistan.

I can’t stress this enough, these people have stood there and lied to us time and time again on these issues in terms of al Qaeda-Taliban relations, al Qaeda’s strength, etc. If Congress doesn’t get involved they’ll stand there and lie to us again.

Clearly, the detainees who were released by The Taliban at Bagram Air Base included a number of al Qaeda personalities, with whom I am very familiar, many of them were caught in joint military or CIA-supported operations and immediately transferred to Afghan custody upon which they were charged, convicted and put away. Those folks are force multipliers for the The Taliban, and they are likely to regroup what is left of al Qaeda in Afghanistan.

Al Qaeda or an organization like al Qaeda will certainly be back, they don’t have to get on planes and fly into buildings this time. They will just walk across our southern border. You can’t have an unsecure southern border and an unsecure haven for terror.

They said al Qaeda might take two years to reconstitute itself but it sounds like from what I've read, they're thinking they could do it in six months, now, that doesn't mean we'll have an attack in six months, it does take time to plan these spectacular events … I don't think it'll happen then, but I think in the next four or five years we should anticipate at least efforts by al Qaeda and ISIS and other groups that may form in the aftermath here.
