I am all for more representations of diverse couples in the media. However, stories should be developed from an organic place, changing the sexual orientations of a character to appease a group or cash in on current hot topics is actually a disservice to [the audience].

Justice Scalia and I had different political orientations and probably would have disagreed on the outcome of certain cases. But there's no doubt that he was a giant on the Supreme Court, helped to shape the legal landscape, it's important, before we rush into the all the politics of this, to take stock of somebody who made enormous contributions to the United States. The notion that say some young kid who was brought here when he was 2 or 3 years old might somehow be deported at the age of 20 or 25, even though they've grown up as Americans — that's not who we are. That's not true to the spirit of what the march on Selma was about, the idea that we would discriminate against people with different sexual orientations, the basic concept was everybody has to be treated equally under the law, not that you have to, that everybody has to have an equal lifestyle.
