It was just more about getting him on a mound, getting comfortable throwing again, obviously we’ve got to make sure everything’s healed in there and the doctors have to clear him, but after that, with him it’s going to be all systems go.

Before the game, my mindset was being aggressive, attacking the zone, that was before I was on the mound. But after I was on the mound, I gave up a walk and it just didn't happen the way I wanted to. I wanted to pitch five innings. ... I know I have to be better next time as an inning-eater.

There were definitely some positives to take out of this start, i missed the two pitches on the home runs and that ended up being the difference in the game, but it was good to be back out on a big league mound again.

Last time I stepped on that mound, it didn’t go so well for me, (Báez) is trying to hit it deep and he’s trying to win the game for his team. I wanted to get him on the ground and we were able to turn the double play. When it works out exactly as you hope it did, it’s awesome.

They found a hole whether it was in in the infield or outfield, not a lot of the balls were hit hard and with Corbin on the mound, a couple of runs is all they're going to need.

He was one of the greatest pitchers we ever had and probably would have been in the Hall of Fame if his career was not cut short, on the mound, he was devastating and intimidating. Nobody wanted to face him. Guys on the other team would say that they were sick to avoid facing him. This is very sad news. He will be missed.

I felt good on the mound, I felt really good with my pitches, about maybe the fifth inning where I was like, ‘ OK it’s a possibility. ’ Just felt like my fastball was really good today. I felt like I was able to pretty much put where I wanted to.

Twenty-seven outs, a lot can happen, real easy to kind of roll over there, last game before the break, you’ve got an unbelievable closer on the mound, great stuff. But I don’t think that crossed any of our minds. Great at-bats.

You have to give credit where credit is due, that’s two games in a row that he’s made it real tough on us. He has a really good fastball and he throws a curveball for a strike when he wants to. He’s just a guy in a groove right now who’s doing what he wants on the mound.

Hopefully, I think we’re getting closer to where we can start mapping out a timetable. I don’t have one, but he is progressing, it was pretty light work, but the next step is obviously to get into regular mound work and mound work with some intensity, and then we can start thinking about facing hitters.

Justin Turner said. They sure did. Seager homeredagain, Buehler pitched six scoreless innings and The Dodgers beat The Braves 3-1 on Saturday to send the NL Championship Series to a winner-take-all finale. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON Los Angeles avoided elimination for the second time in less than 24 hours, staying alive in Los Angeles pursuit of a third pennant in four years. Los Angeles hasnt won a championship since 1988. Im still sort of recovering from this one, but already thinking about Game 7, The Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. Thats what you live for. Justin Turner also homered for Los Angeles, and Kenley Jansen threw a six-pitch ninth for Kenley Jansen 18th career postseason save. The NL West and East champions play again Sunday night, with the potential for two rookie starters in a Game 7 for the first time in big league history. Roberts was keeping his options open for his starting pitcher while The Braves plan to go with rookie right-hander Ian Anderson, who has thrown 15 2/3 scoreless innings in Ian Anderson three postseason starts. Tony Gonsolin and three-time NL Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw are among the possibilities for Los Angeles. Shoot, well go out there and let er fly. A Game 7 is another baseball game, Atlanta manager Brian Snitker said. You have to treat it as such. The Braves were hoping to celebrate Snitkers 65th birthday Saturday with the franchises first World Series berth since 1999. But Max Fried took Max Fried first loss all year, working into the seventh inning after surrendering three runs during a rocky first. Buehler, using Stans Rodeo Ointment to deal with bothersome blisters, threw 65 of his 89 pitches for strikes. He allowed seven hits while striking out six without a walk. After Atlanta loaded the bases with three singles in a row to start the top of second the last hit by his Vanderbilt roommate Dansby Swanson the right-hander really brought the heat, with 10 consecutive fastballs to get out of the jam. Nobody is surprised to see Hendriks helping out. Everything he does is with a passion and care known well for his thoughtful work off the field as much as his intensity on it. Hendriks reliability in the ninth inning has earned him a solid reputation, too. But you wont hear Hendriks say it. He plans to earn the job again. I dont want to be complacent, he said. Going out there and making sure I put everything on the line every night is a big thing for me. The Oakland closer received a nice raise when he signed a $ 5.3 million, one-year contract last month to avoid salary arbitration. The 31-year-old Hendriks is approaching this season as if he has everything to prove once again. He plans to take the mound each opportunity he gets exhibiting the confidence that he can and will repeat what he did last season. The right-hander, a former opener for the As, went 4-4 with a 1.80 ERA and 25 saves over a career-high 75 appearances spanning 85 innings. I dont want to dwell too much on last year because I dont want to rest on my laurels. I dont want to go out there and be like, Oh, I had my good year, I can ride that wave as long as I can, Hendriks said. I want to go out there and prove that it wasnt a fluke. I want to go out there and prove that no matter what happened last year I still need to win the job this year. I dont want to be gifted anything. I dont want to be given anything, I want to go out there and make sure that in spring training I prove that I want this role, I want this job and Im going to run away with it and prove to everybody why I want it. Hendriks became a key piece for As manager Bob Melvin late in games last season as The Oakland earned the ALs top wild card before losing to Tampa Bay. Considering his topsy-turvy history, Melvin is hardly surprised by Hendriks focus. He got designated for assignment on June 25, 2018 and has been through that almost a half-dozen times now before starting The Oakland 7-2 wild-card loss at Yankee Stadium just more than three months later. You would expect that from somebody thats been through the trials and tribulations that hes been over his career, so I think it is more about him not relaxing at all, Melvin said. He wants to be pushed, he wants to earn everything that he gets. Hes come a long way. He had as dominant a year really as anybody in baseball. He has learned from other times when he thought things were going smoothly, saying, I dont like feeling like Ive got it in the bag because as soon as I do somethings always going to pop up, Hendriks said. I dealt with certain things very poorly in the past and my mindset to get over that was expect the worst and hope for the best, he said. Expect the worst and if something good happens youre able to handle it, rather than expecting things and if they didnt come to fruition, falling out a rabbit hole and being kind of self-deprecating and all that. Starter Mike Fiers appreciates Hendriks determination and focus to again show why he is fit to be the ninth-inning option. Everyone has their ups and downs, and thats similar to how I am. I dont want to just sit back and be like Listen, Ive got the job.

Other than that (home run) at-bat today, I had four pretty rough at-bats, so it wasnt my best day at the plate, but when we got Tommy on the mound, you dont really worry about only being up one run. Our team has so much trust in this pitching staff and how theyve performed in the postseason that we dont have a lot of pressure on ourselves because we know all we need is a few-run lead and theyre going to take care of the rest.
