And then she put herself in front of a bus and died because she had underlying bipolar disorder she had been self-medicating with food, we as a society use a lot of food to hide trauma. What we need in this country is more psychological counseling for everybody, not just for people who undergo bariatric surgery.

Powerlessness is not a helpful message for women to embrace, aA focuses on drinking as the problem and keeps people focused on that. Drinking is rarely the problem — it is the symptom of things that are not working somewhere in your life, and you are medicating with alcohol rather than addressing the real issues.

I don’t think anybody would argue that fact that we know inflammation in the body, which comes from a lot of different sources, is the basis for a lot of chronic health problems, so by controlling that, we would expect to see increased life expectancy … but if we’re not changing those things and just taking ibuprofen, I don’t know if we’re really going to make any headway in that, i feel like there are probably a lot of factors that we could change without medicating with risk.
