I know some states have said' No,' but we do need masks during The Delta variant. And then, I believe we need off-ramps for when those masks can come off for kids, because not everyone wants their children masked, and I think that's fair. Things are tough right now with Delta because we've heard how transmissible it is and how people who are vaccinated can carry high loads of virus in their noses. But I think we can be reassured that the vaccines still provide excellent protection against hospitalization, serious cases of illness... Every other high income country is doing at least one of three things... they are either vaccinating adolescents, or they're keeping in mitigation( measures) in schools such as masks and social distancing, isolation and( investing in) ventilation, or they're keeping community transmission low... most of them are doing two of those things. By dismissively ignoring Governor DeSantis’ efforts to protect vulnerable Floridians, Psaki is the one playing politics with the pandemic, the White House should be more concerned about the flip-flopping of the CDC, which is inadvertently promoting vaccine hesitancy with their confusing, contradictory public communications. Stating that vaccinated people should wear masks and socially distance is implying that the vaccines do not change anything, which is the wrong message for our federal government to be promoting.

The( executive order) does not explicitly ban regulations mandating the use of face masks by children in Florida Statutes schools, the authority to regulate this lies with the Florida Department of Health after consultation with the Florida Department of Education, not with the governor.

We had great success last winter, last school year. We saw virtually no spread in the classroom when all the kids were wearing masks. So we recommend -- strong recommendation to our schools -- that they do that, now some will do that, some will not.
