A coroner is independent of the government, a coroner’s inquest goes into an investigation with an open mind, they don’t go into it to prove a thesis. A public inquiry into this man’s death was to prove a thesis, that he killed himself. It was a whitewash, a travesty.

Chairman Gowdy has not contacted me, other Democratic members, or anyone on our staff about his proposal to release these documents, nor has he contacted the State Department to clarify why its production of Benghazi-related emails might have differences from Mr. Blumenthal's production of Libya-related documents, (Blumenthal's) deposition may further the Select Committee's inquest of Secretary Clinton, but it won't bring us any new information about the Benghazi attacks because the witness appears not to have any firsthand knowledge about them.
