I hope this makes a lot of seniors really excited about the news that they are now eligible for boosters if they're six months out, and as we're going into winter we want to be sure that everyone's immunity is up, so now would also be a good time for those seniors to go ahead and think about boosters and flu shots.

Despite some shifting numbers, neither our vaccines nor our immune systems are failing us, or even coming close. Vaccine effectiveness isn’t a monolith, and neither is immunity. Staying safe from a virus depends on host and pathogen alike; a change in either can chip away at the barriers that separate the two without obliterating them, which is exactly what we’re seeing now.

Given rising case counts of the Delta variant, we need to know as soon as possible who needs a vaccine booster shot and when they need it, this information on how specific immunity to SARS-CoV-2 infection declines with aging, disease and in long-term care residents is critically important for developing a booster strategy based on real-time data in this population.

Until they show me evidence that people who have already had the infection are dying in large numbers, or being hospitalized or getting very sick, I just made my own personal decision that I’m not getting vaccinated because I’ve already had the disease and I have natural immunity.

There are various real-world evidence that are emerging here that suggest that the vaccine is still effective against the Delta variant, data coming out of Israel seems to suggest that with time, immunity from the vaccine does tend to wane, and so that's something we'll be following closely.

I think there will most certainly be patients that absolutely will benefit from getting a third dose, besides the immunocompromised that definitely should get a third dose, i think there will be some patients that probably have robust immunity and really don’t need a third dose at this point in time, maybe they’ll never need it, that we don’t really know.

We're not going to eradicate this coronavirus like we've done with smallpox ; it is something that I think is going to settle into a more seasonal pattern, like the flu and colds... but right now, because it's novel and so many people are not immune to it, it's really ripping through the population. But I think five years from now, we will have much greater immunity either through vaccination or natural infection.

I don't think that we want to think that these vaccines have somehow failed us, it may simply be that to get the kind of really good immunity against Covid-19 that we get with some other vaccines, it may take a series of three vaccinations, much the same way that hepatitis B for adults and multiple childhood vaccination primary series, you need to get a vaccination, you know, 0, 1 ; or 0, 2 and 4 ; or 0, 2 and 6 months.

A person who skipped a booster is placing themselves at higher risk of getting infected, and getting disease from the SARS-Coronavirus-2, but I would also expect that they're going to have some partial immunity and so they may be protected against more severe disease.

Because by the time you actually make that decision ... and you start operationalizing a booster campaign, you're talking about maybe late October if the decision comes in September, that you can start getting a sizeable number of people boosted, it takes time to get that stood up and get people into the doctors' offices to get injections. And it will take a couple of weeks for the immunity to mature.

We continue to encourage people that if they don't have immunity and if they're in a high-risk category that it's probably not wise for them to come, and we definitely don't encourage people who have several high-risk categories to attend.

The federal government forcing the American people to continue to wear masks despite the fact that we’ve already reached herd immunity is ridiculous and needs to end immediately, in a free county people will evaluate their personal risk factors and are smart enough to ultimately make medical decisions like wearing a mask themselves.

During the depositions, Cosby gives very incriminating and damaging statements. Then, there's a new DA and that person decides to prosecute the case, after the new DA takes over and during the prosecution, the DA uses those very damaging statements that Cosby made during his civil deposition… so what the Pennsylvania Supreme Court essentially said was, 'Look, you can't do this.' Even though there was no formal immunity, Cosby reasonably relied on that statement declining prosecution when he gave his deposition in the civil case, which is why he was so open.
