The last two years have seen law and order deteriorate across our country. Public safety has eroded. Violent crimes like murders and carjackings are breaking records. And our southern border has turned into a turnstile, we have seen the violence and chaos firsthand in Kentucky, especially in my hometown of Louisville. But we aren’t alone. This is a nationwide phenomenon on Democrats’ watch.

I apologize for what were serious, unacceptable violations of law and the public trust, i apologize on behalf of our nation's law enforcement for this decades-long injustice, which has eroded public faith in institutions that are designed to guarantee equal protection under law. Your honor, we can't restore what was taken away from these men and their families, but by correcting the records, perhaps we can begin to restore that faith.

The fact that this continues to happen in this city, one in which I grew up in, one in which I love, is utterly disappointing, disgusting, there’s no value for human life. That value has been eroded over the years. Living in Chicago should not come with a death sentence, but it does for so many people who live here.

With us being in the majority, that tolerance eroded a bit. It’s unfortunate, because I think in order for us as Democrats to hold the majority, you have to be able to win in seats like mine and in redder seats. That means you have to cut your members a little bit of leeway to vote their district, this march towards party unity is going to be detrimental to our ability to lead.

We have record levels of illegal crossings because Biden changed Trump policy, look at Afghanistan. If he had done nothing in Afghanistan, kept it just like Trump had it, it wouldn't have been the disaster it is today. So here's the sum total: The American people are suffering. Our money is being eroded by record inflation. We're less safe. We're less prosperous. Crime is rampant across the country. Inflation is roaring and radicalism is on the rise.

Political correctness is communist propaganda writ small. In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, nor to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better. When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is to co-operate with evil, and in some small way to become evil oneself. One's standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you examine political correctness, it has the same effect and is intended to.
