My understanding is that he was responsible for looking at the physical security of sites for his employer, to make sure that things couldn't be stolen or be broken into, to remove the opportunities for people to have access to things they shouldn't have access to, but it wasn't cybersecurity. Unless there is a written contract limiting the circumstances (in which) an employee can be fired, an employer may fire someone without cause, for any or no reason, as long as it's not an impermissible reason, such as discussing terms and conditions of employment, discrimination based on race, sex, national origin, in some states sexual orientation, etc..

I’m thankful I had a very authentic relationship, obviously, he was my employer but at the same time there was a level of respect and because of the window of time I worked with him it was in that critical point where you go from off-the-radar to dominating the radar. I think, more than anything else, I really felt, and he demonstrated, that he saw me as not just a band member or employee but more as a confidante big brother and we had an authentic relationship.
