Death With Dignity: I'm writing this quote in regards to the Death With Dignity laws across Michigan, America, and the world. I noticed Michigan failed to pass the Death With Dignity legislation back in 2017. I am a firm believer that everyone should have the right to die when and how they want so long as it's morally right to do so. Whether they're terminally ill, mentally ill, chronically ill, or they're suffering in some unjust way. Maybe they're suffering because their homeless, poor, old, or depressed. Maybe they suffer because they have no friends or family and they're lonely. Whatever their circumstance is they should have the right to die in a humane way. Only if you have a criminal record or your living an unjust life style should you be excluded from this human right. You don't want criminals and people living unjust life styles being rewarded for their bad behaviors. Any person that commits a crime/ behavior/act that unjustly harms another living life/living should automatically disqualify them from this human right. Death With Dignity is only for those who live just lives. I personally have been disabled since birth. I have more than a handful of mental illnesses and I also have several chronic illnesses. I have diabetic peripheral neuropathy, diabetes, interstitial cystitis, gastritis, obsessive compulsive disorder, GERD, learning disabilities, severe PTSD, schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, confidence and self-esteem problems, and an inferiority complex. I'm in uncontrollable pain all day everyday. I have very limited functioning and I suffer intensely due to each of my illnesses. It is morally necessary for me to have the option to die when and how I want and to do it in a humane way. It is the right of all living things who suffer unjust pain to die when they want to. You are not the one suffering I am, and therefore you have no moral right to tell me when I can and cannot die. You will go home to your families and I will suffer all alone. You will turn your backs on me when I'm at my illest because you lack compassion, respect, integrity, justice and mercy for my circumstance and I will have to suffer for it.You are not a criminal for helping the ill die in a humane way, you are a criminal for letting those who are ill suffer. You are not cruel for helping the ill die, you are only cruel when you sit there and watch people suffer unjust pain and do nothing. It is not a human rights violation to humanely assist a suicide or euthanize people when they're suffering, however it is a human rights violation when you let them suffer unfair pain. You are not a criminal for humanely helping someone die when they're ill and don't want to continue on with their lives, you are only a criminal if you unjustly cause harm to someone's life. You take your dog and cat to the vet when they're ill to euthanize them so they don't suffer. You should show the same empathy, compassion, mercy, and respect to your fellow humans as you do for animals. You should show integrity, justice, courage, compassion, mercy, respect, love, and peace to all living things so long as they deserve it.

It is amazing how little attention over the past few months has been given to these potentially really transformative pieces of legislation, this could be transformative to hundreds of thousands and millions of people who are elderly or disabled and they can't get home care and end up in nursing homes. And that's not even to mention the profound change in policy of climate change, which is really, you know, an existential crisis for the planet!

Being disabled: Being able to function properly is usually a gift to most people but some people have to work very hard for it, they have to earn it, it's more of a reward then a gift, and some people are disabled, handicap, and they won't ever be able to function properly no matter how much they want it, no matter how hard they try, so don't ever squander it, don't ever abuse it, always be respectful for what you have, don't ever take what you have for granted and never misuse what's been given to you.

I may be disabled, unhealthy, and poor. I may have suffered tragedies, setbacks, and injustices, but I refuse to give up. I believe in my mind that I am better than what I am. I believe that no matter how bad things get eventually they will look up. I try to focus on the good things that could await in the future rather than all the bad things that have happened. It helps me to keep going.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said Capitol Hill Saturday. The current draft legislation, rolled out by the Senate GOP andobtained by Fox News on Thursday, would provide payments of up to $ 1,200 per person. They would be phased down at adjusted gross income thresholds of $ 75,000 for individuals and $ 150,000 per couple. Additionally, there would be $ 500 payments for each child. The amount, though, is slated to then be reduced by $ 5 for each $ 100 a taxpayers income exceeds the legislations threshold. The amount is reduced to zero for single taxpayers with incomes exceeding $ 99,000 and $ 198,000 for joint filers. The legislation also outlined $ 300 billion for small businesses to keep furloughed and laid-off workers on the payroll and $ 208 billion in loans to airlines and other industries. Some Republicans have objected to certain measures outlined in the bill, and most Democrats, including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, have sounded the alarm saying the measure does not go far enough in protecting American families, and is too focused on corporations. Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., introduced an amendment to McConnells plan on Saturday, which aimed to expand relief forlow-income and middle-income Americans.Hawleys plan lowers the threshold for Americans to qualify for the $ 1,200 relief. In order to qualify, under Josh Hawley amendment, an individual must be a U.S. citizen with a Social Security number. Under McConnells plan, an individual must file taxes and have an income greater than $ 0 in order to qualify, which Josh Hawley says leaves behind Americans who are disabled, or living in public housing that dont file taxes due to not having any true income of their own. During this emergency our focus should be on helping every American who needs it, including especially our most vulnerable citizens, excluding or penalizing families with lower incomes doesnt make sense. Congress should prioritize lower-income and middle-class families through this crisis. Meanwhile, White House Legislative Affairs Director Eric Ueland declined to share specific details Capitol Hill Saturday on whether all GOP senators were on board with the ongoing discussions over the stimulus package.

The series of policies that Trump is proposing to reduce the flow of low-skilled labor in this country is exactly at odds with our demographic shift, we just don't have the young, working-age population that we need to care for elders. These policies are going to leave millions of elderly and disabled stranded without care.
