However, on religious issues there can be little or no compromise. There is no position on which people are so immovable as their religious beliefs. There is no more powerful ally one can claim in a debate than Jesus Christ, or God, or Allah, or whatever one calls this supreme being. But like any powerful weapon, the use of God's name on one's behalf should be used sparingly. The religious factions that are growing throughout our land are not using their religious clout with wisdom. They are trying to force government leaders into following their position 100 percent. If you disagree with these religious groups on a particular moral issue, they complain, they threaten you with a loss of money or votes or both. I'm frankly sick and tired of the political preachers across this country telling me as a citizen that if I want to be a moral person, I must believe in 'A,' 'B,' 'C,' and 'D.' Just who do they think they are? And from where do they presume to claim the right to dictate their moral beliefs to me? And I am even more angry as a legislator who must endure the threats of every religious group who thinks it has some God-granted right to control my vote on every roll call in the Senate. I am warning them today: I will fight them every step of the way if they try to dictate their moral convictions to all Americans in the name of 'conservatism.'

I was not going to let him dictate how I was going to spend the rest of my life, once he left this earth, that was it. Everything that he did, hey – you take that with you. Because I’m not going to keep going back and forth with it. I’m gonna stay right here, and I’m gonna always celebrate my sister.

We either stay in the same class, in the same low-paying job or gather all this debt so we can at least be able to have more flexibility in our lives, i applaud everyone who's able to pay off their student loans, but one person's circumstances should not dictate the response for providing relief.

I find Judge Jackson to be a person of exceptionally good character, respected by her peers, and someone who has worked hard to achieve her current position, however, her record is overwhelming in its lack of a steady judicial philosophy and a tendency to achieve outcomes in spite of what the law requires or common sense would dictate.

What's at stake is not simply, as important as it is, Ukraine's territorial integrity, sovereignty, independence but very basic principles that have, in a hard-fought way after two World Wars and a Cold War, undergirded security, peace and prosperity for countries around the world -- principles like one country can't simply change the borders of another by force ; principles like one country can't simply dictate to another its choices, its policies, with who it will associate ; principles like one country can't exert a sphere of influence to subjugate its neighbors to its will, if we allow those principles to be challenged with impunity, even if it's half a world away in Europe, that will have an impact here as well.

I think what people need to understand is that Ukraine is important, and we are resolute in our commitment to its sovereignty, its territorial integrity, but there is something even bigger at stake here, and it's the basic rules of the road of the international system, rules that say that one country can't change the borders of another by force, one country can't dictate to another country its choices, its decisions, and its foreign policy, with whom it will associate.

Considering the current state of ENSO is neutral, La Nina may be weak through at least the early part of the winter season.
