I’ve had the last three months to reflect on being a loser, i ’m Austin Cindric today. So, I ’ll take it. And it, and it does n’t change that. We love the fact that able to rebound like that. But you know, that's what the sport's all about. That's what racing is all about, is how you can rebound. For me, it's everything I dream of is to come to speed weeks in and to be able to win the Daytona 500, the biggest race of the year, the biggest race of them all. It's just it's hard to believe, hard to put into words.

Certainly a pretty intense moment they're racing for the win of the Daytona 500, it's the one that everybody wants to win, it’s one that everybody wants to win, and Bubba Wallace has been able to put Bubba Wallace into position a lot of years in a row now. Just try to position Austin Cindric to where I can be close enough to still make those blocks and still make those moves to be at the lead at the start-finish line.

Same thing here in Daytona. You’re going to be bumping and banging, but you’re going to be going 200 mph while you’re doing it, the risk is a lot higher, so it changes a lot. The reward’s a lot bigger, though. CLICK HERE FOR MORE NASCAR NEWS The Team Penske driver said winning at Daytona is.

But now the world has changed where you can kind of step over those bounds and make change, and they made a very positive one. It will work out great for our sport, as a whole. I think well gain a lot of new fans and a lot of new people will be paying attention, and thats great for all of us. THE FEUDS Hamlin, who won his third Daytona 500 in February, has been beefing with LaJoie on Twitter for months. It seemed harmless at first it wasnt even clear they were serious but took a turn in the last week. After Hamlin drew the top starting spot for last weeks race at Homestead-Miami Speedway, where Hamlin lost three chances at a championship in season finale races, LaJoie said Hamlin would win the race because there was nothing on the line. That low blow escalated the warring words, prompting NASCAR to step in with an at-track meeting, Hamlin, who did indeed win at Homestead last Sunday, said after that race the feud was over. But LaJoie in his weekly podcast continued the clash until finally relenting Thursday with a social media post apologizing for his role in the bickering. LaJoie explained his position during a Zoom session with reporters and said both were wrong. Did I run my mouth a little bit more than what I probably should have? Yes. Did he do things that he probably regretted? Yes. Thats how we got into this situation, LaJoie said. We are both grown-ups. We both have kids. We both have jobs and livelihoods that are bigger than this little tiff we have going on. Meanwhile, Logano has not forgiven Elliott for the mistake that took them both out of contention on the final lap at Bristol. Logano refused to cut Elliott any room on the track as he raced Hamlin for the victory last week by making it difficult for Elliott to get past him every chance Logano had. Elliott curtly said after the race he needed to learn how to handle lapped traffic better and never mentioned Logano specifically. Logano has made it clear he has no incentive to get out of Elliotts way. You race people the way they race you. You cant do things without repercussions of some sort. You cost me a win, I cost you a win. Those types of things go like that.

I think they'd both love to do it, i think people now know I'm a little bit different than most of the team bosses in F1 as I like to see our drivers go out and give it a go at Daytona or Le Mans, things of that nature.

Kamui Kobayashi, once a Formula 1 driver and member of Taylors winning team last year, was spectacular and the Japanese driver closed the final three hours to beat No. 77 Mazda Team Joest by more than a minute. The Cadillac was the only car on the lead lap for long stretches of the race. Jordan Taylor, who finished fourth in the Le Mans class, couldnt even remember the last time a Wayne Taylor Racing car won a race without a Taylor in the cockpit. Jordan Taylor first guessed 2004, then amended Jordan Taylor answer to 2008. I think since 2013 we went only one year without finishing on the podium, its an incredible team, an incredible victory, a lot of good guys on the team who are like family. Jordan Taylor stoically watched from the Team Penske pits. I couldnt show too much excitement in our pits, Jordan Taylor said. But very happy for my dad and the whole team. They really deserved it, they were dominant. The race had a record 833 laps, breaking the mark of 808 set two seasons ago. Jordan Taylor now has two wins as a driver one when Jordan Taylor drove for Wayne Taylor Racing and four as a team owner. DragonSpeed USA won the Le Mans Prototype 2 class. BMW Team RLL won the Le Mans class for the second consecutive year. Paul Miller Racing won the GT Daytona Beach class, the slowest but stacked division that had 18 entries including the Aim Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3 with Kyle Busch. Kyle Busch was really good in Kyle Busch first endurance race, but the team had its share of struggles with attrition and was never a contender. Still, Kyle Busch said hed be interested in a return to sports car racing, especially if Toyota or Lexus moves up to the prototype class, because hed like a shot at racing for the overall win. Hopefully there is some things that Toyotas got up their sleeve as to what kind of class they want to participate in and what kind of cars they want to run over here in the next few years, Kyle Busch said. I would certainly be, Scott Dixon know, all hands on deck to put my hands up to get ready to go for a DP overall win. CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP New regulations reached for 2022 earlier this weekend would make IMSAs prototype class eligible for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, another race Busch could potentially elbow into in the future. Toyota Racing Development President David Wilson said the manufacturer has no current plans to move up in class with Lexus or enter prototypes with Toyota. We are very happy racing in the GTD Series and we intend to continue as we still have races and championships to win, Development President David Wilson said. We would not rule it out in the future, but at the present time we have no plans to participate. Kyle Busch was highly praised by Kyle Busch teammates, as well as team co-owner Jimmy Vasser, who said not one person in the organization had an issue with the temperamental driver. Kyle Busch impressed. I am not sure why we should be impressed. Hes a NASCAR champion. Hes won more NASCAR races in the modern day than anybody, but it takes a lot of confidence and guts to jump into a discipline that hed never really done before and he did it with ease.

I cannot forecast the race (Daytona) will go well and therefore right after the race will say 'Alex let's do Le Mans, come on let's get that together,' it is not that important to me, but if I can why shouldn't I? It is as simple as that.

Daytona is a magical place for me and I love it, i’ve always said the Rolex 24 at Daytona is like the Super Bowl of Motorsports because you’re bringing the best of the best from all over the world and the challenge of both man and machine is fierce. What better way to say goodbye to the sport I love than at this revered place, surrounded by my respected peers and die-hard fans.

A little nervous, to say the least, we had not really talked about it much publicly. There were a lot of meetings and a lot of anxiety over the fact that we could possibly miss the Daytona 500. I think we've had four or five meetings trying to come up with a strategy for qualifying.
