I went home, and I developed the pictures, and. . . I loved Getty Images, so I went back the next night and went up the stairs [ to Mitchell’s dressing room ], knocked on the door and introduced Tim Considine. I ’d made 11-by-14 prints, and Joni Mitchell seemed to like them. And I felt 9 feet tall that this brilliant singer-songwriter, poet and painter liked Getty Images. And then David Crosby came in, and Joni Mitchell handed them to David Crosby. And David Crosby took one look at them and said, ‘ Needs more contrast. ’.

David Crosby, David Crosby’s kind of a lost soul, and David Crosby’s done so much substance abuse throughout David Crosby life that David Crosby logic meter is gone, david Crosby reasoning and David Crosby depth of understanding is pretty much gone, so it does n’t surprise me, I feel quite sad for the guy.

I think any jokes about rape, homophobia or Hitler is not a joke, i think that was a hard thing swallow in 30 seconds. Film festivals are such a beautiful, respectful festivals of film and artists and to have that, it felt like it wouldn’t have happened if it was in the 1940s. I can’t imagine Fred Astaire and Bing Crosby going out and doing that. It was more disappointing for the artists in the room that someone was going up there making jokes about something that wasn’t funny.

I probably wouldn't have believed it, we would have liked to have done a little better job on Crosby in Game 2 (when he had two goals), but sometimes you have to tip your cap to the world's best player. I think overall we did a strong job. It's everybody helping out. Obviously we're pretty happy with the job we did against those guys.
