I actually grew up in Korea and I frequented a lot of dog cafes there and I really got involved in animal rescue work there. And when I came here, I visited a shelter within the first month that I was here, i realized that there was such a greater intake of dogs than there were adoptions. And I was like, what's a good way to combat this? And so I was like, why not bring a little bit of home back from Korea here but implement the dog adoption aspect of things as well.

Since then, my office has been contacted by countless veterans who have described the mismanagement of the program. Our veterans selflessly put themselves in harm’s way with their military working dogs, yet too many of them are now separated because of hollow promises from our government. We take adoptions case by case. If there was a perfect home that wanted to take over his weight loss journey we may take that into consideration, we are in no hurry to get rid of him but there are other dogs at the shelter that are ready to be saved.
