I know a number of Shultises in Woodstock and I don't think this should change anybody's individual perspective, they're overwhelmingly nice folks. This situation stands on its own as far as I'm concerned and the parties that are involved will have to answer for whatever transgressions they may have committed.

Thousands and thousands of people. Rain. Mud. Candles. People. Murmuring. Sound. It was unbelievable, the size of something like Woodstock - things get very hazy. They get very hazy if you're straight. They get incredibly hazy if you were high. And that's what we were so I have very few memories of interaction backstage.

There are a lot of people who still live by the Woodstock credo of peace and love, i signed my letters 'peace and love' ever since. I've had a couple people in business say, 'peace and love, though?' And I'm like, yeah. Peace and love. Don't forget about that. That is what it's all about.

If youre a music fan and you appreciate the history of Woodstock as a cultural, pinnacle moment, even as a brand, its hard not to be sad about this seemingly never-ending torrent of missteps and false hopes, for the sake of the legacy of Woodstock, I kind of wish they would stop. Its like watching a boxer who just wont stay down when he really should.

The original festival in '69 was a reaction by the youth of the time to the causes we felt compelled to fight for - civil rights, women's rights, and the antiwar movement, and it gave way to our mission to share peace, love and music, today, we're experiencing similar disconnects in our country, and one thing we've learned is that music has the power to bring people together. So, it's time to bring the Woodstock spirit back, get involved and make our voices heard.
