Will we one day be able to regenerate a human digit or even a limb ? Probably, but how long we need to wait is impossible to predict, one step in that direction will be when regenerative biology fully embraces new regenerative models, particularly certain species of mammals. This and comparative studies will help us understand how and why regeneration fails in some contexts and succeeds in others.

While we stand by our key messages, it is helpful to know that the wording of parts of the policy brief can give rise to misunderstandings. To address this we have updated the document( specifically page 8) to more clearly articulate our conclusions and specifically cite the studies by which they have been reached, in brief, our position is that studies showing a significant cardioprotective effect of alcohol consumption have by-and-large been observational, inconsistent, funded by the alcohol industry, and/or not subject to randomized control. Furthermore, any potential cardioprotective effect is negated by the well-documented risks and harms, rendering our judgment that no amount of consumption can be considered good for heart health.

Given that the WHF report references this paper, it is really odd that their conclusion is that' no amount of alcohol is good for the heart,' there are some scientific studies that support their headline, but based on my work on the Global Burden of Disease Study, which pulls together all the available evidence to date, the claim by the WHF is not supported by the scientific evidence currently available.

There are a lot of studies [from other variants] that show the maximum transmissibility is in those first five days, and [with omicron] we are about to face hundreds of thousands more cases a day, and it was becoming very, very clear from the health care system that we would have people who were [positive but] asymptomatic and not able to work, and that was a harbinger of what was going to come in all other essential functions of society.

Some studies have been able to show that low to medium levels of circulating ketone bodies as seen in nutritional ketosis can be beneficial to the functioning of the endothelial cells in our vascular system. Protecting our vascular system benefits heart health, also, since obesity is a risk factor for heart disease, it makes sense that a ketogenic diet may indirectly benefit heart health simply by way of weight loss and weight management.

Other studies, on the other hand, have shown increased LDL levels in those following a keto diet, so heart health remains a concern, some theorize that the increased LDL levels are at least in part explained by rapid weight loss causing cholesterol to be mobilized as fat cells shrink.

When the governor or the candidate said that he didn't think parents should be deciding what's being taught in school, he was panned for that, but that's just the fact. This is why we send our children to school and don't home school, because these are the professional educators who have the expertise to teach social studies, to teach history, to teach science, to teach literature, and I think we should leave that to the educators. Yes, we should have some say but school is not about simply confirming our worldview. Schools should teach us to question they should teach us how to think, not what to think.

And I don't really understand this idea that parents should decide what's being taught. I'm not a professional educator. I don't have a degree in social studies or science. We send our children to school because we want them to be taught by people who have an expertise in the subject area. And that is not my job, when the, when the governor or the candidate said that he didn't think parents should be deciding what's being taught in school, he was panned for that. But that's just the fact. This is why we send our children to school and don't homeschool, because these are the professional educators who have the expertise to teach social studies, to teach history, to teach science, to teach literature. It should be noted that some South African scientists have been saying Omicron was milder for some time, although two thirds reduction is significant, Omicron can cause severe illness in the doubly vaccinated. Thus, if Omicron continues to double every few days, it could generate many more hospitalisations than Delta from the double vaccinated population.

That could be because the person doesn't have an infection at all and they just simply had allergy symptoms, it could be because they have a virus, and we know that cold is caused by a virus and doesn't benefit from an antibiotic. We know that COVID is caused by a virus – doesn't benefit from antibiotics. But what's interesting is that we're also finding out that there are bacterial infections – bacterial infections that don't benefit from antibiotics. Most ear infections actually, even when caused by a bacteria, studies show don't get better any quicker with an antibiotic than without an antibiotic.
