If you're trying to suggest that that somehow I've got these horrible attitudes or because you were engaged in a provocative radio talk show, even though your record in Congress is very mainstream -- Gov Track, puts me as a moderate, i'm working with( Democratic Rep.) Bobby Scott on criminal justice reform. I wrote a number of op-eds over the years questioning the efficacy of the drug war and specifically citing its impact on minority communities. My actual record is, is fairly clear. So when you take a quote in the context of a rhetorical discussion and put it in a headline that's even worse -- I do think that's out of context.

Look, a rhetorical discussion about the cultural changes and whether we can hold anyone, male or female, to standards made for an interesting hour, made for an interesting rhetorical discussion, that's what you're supposed to do on talk radio. And if you're provocative when you do it, well, that's part of our job. I presume, you know, the people that are running with this story are looking for ratings as well. So, it's kind of sad that it's come back to this, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Why on earth is it racist for us to say we need to close our borders to them at this time?

Kevin’s wearing his blue wool firefighter pants, he’s got a radio and [a department] jacket and shirt on, it’s unfortunate that somebody would mistake an Oakland firefighter, a professional who would go into harm’s way every day to protect citizens, as someone who was there for criminal intent. Kevin’s out there doing his job well and representing the Oakland Fire Department with the highest integrity.

Officials safely captured and relocated the snake, which painfully regurgitated the dead fawn in the grass. Shortly after, the python was humanely euthanized. Wildlife biologists then performed an autopsy on the snake and collected genetic samples. Biologists are accumulating valuable life history information on the behavior of Burmese pythons in Southwest Florida, the conservancy wrote. This information is leading to the development of an effective python removal technique that combines both hunting and radio-telemetry tracking efforts to target and remove breeding female pythons and disrupt the egg-laying cycle. A 2015 photo, which was just released this week, shows a Burmese python regurgitating a 35-pound white-tailed deer. ( Conservancy of Southwest Florida) The Florida Wildlife Commission has been asking for the public's help to remove the snakes, encouraging them toremove and kill pythons from private lands whenever possible. The South Florida Water Management District even created a python elimination program in 2017 to protect the Everglades and eliminate the snakes from public lands. Approximately158 pythons were eliminated during the program in roughly two months. Wildlife officials would like to find a more effective way to eliminate the creatures, and they believe research is key. He drove 80 miles an hour to get there by six and be on the air live. Not one cup of coffee. No drugs. Just pure adrenaline and pure love of entertaining people. He craved it… [But he later] made some bad choices, some bad decisions… And he missed out on so much over these bad choices he made with people. It’s such a waste.
