One of the things we have to remember is China is the second largest economy in the world and continues to grow. We are going to have to – in some circumstances – engage constructively with China like we did around the conference on biodiversity that we hosted with them in Montreal, there’s other places where we’re going to have to be stiff competition to China in terms of market access (and) in terms of investments in the Global South. We need to be able to show that the Western democracies are there to make those investments and they’re as competitive to China.

The greatest honor of my life was in Montreal in 1976 when I was selected to carry the American flag for the U.S. Olympic team leading into Montreal Stadium, and the American flag is iconic. It doesn't just represent the greatest country in the world. It represents and symbolizes millions of Americans who have worked hard, who have sacrificed, some of them, with their own lives.

When it comes to protests that I've been part of here in Toronto, or ones that I saw in the media in Ottawa or Vancouver or Montreal, there were mostly two races -- Black and White. Yes, there were a few Asians, but very, very few, i see Black people raising posters, I see white people raising posters. I see very few Brown people engaging in these conversations, or protesting, or donating, or speaking out. I don't think many even recognize their privilege. I know we have some Asian people who are our allies, but from my end it's not enough.

I cannot deny that I got a little bit crazy, but Im really a bit disappointed ... with the crowd as well. I dont have anything against when they cheer for Felix. Its normal. Hes the home favorite, especially from Montreal. I wish they could cheer the same way in Russia for me. But still, not when I miss or not wishing me to miss, screaming during the points. Its disrespectful.

As a driver in the form of Max Verstappen life at the moment, I think arguably for the past 12 months he's been the best driver in the world, how do I substantiate that ? He's not in the best car but when you look at the results that he's got out of that car since Montreal last year, some of the performances that he's put in, he's made virtually zero mistakes in that period.

You mold your style according the presidential requirements, i was a lawyer, a barrister who went to court every day. Every judge is different and you adapt your argument according to the judge so it sort of comes naturally. Howman, who often represented athletes in New Zealand who could not afford his services and paid in cricket bats and All-Blacks rugby jerseys, has been there through all the highs and lows. When WADA opened in 2003, drugs in sport had already become a worldwide epidemic and fair play was merely a quaint idea. Doping was firmly entrenched in the sporting culture, largely tolerated, if not tacitly accepted, by those who competed in everything from cycling's Tour de France to baseball's World Series. With no meaningful out-of-competition testing, a mish-mash of sanctions and banned substance lists, entrepreneurs such as BALCO mastermind Victor Conte operated in near impunity, pushing out designer steroids faster than tests could be developed to detect them. From a small headquarters in Montreal, WADA has grown into a global agency with four regional offices and 35 laboratories, although four are currently under suspension.
