I've never been in combat, but I can tell you this—I‘ve lost friends in Iraq and Afghanistan, and I’ve seen what these wars have done to young men and women, we are showing all of our adversaries the playbook on how to infiltrate our country. It is a complete joke, and it says it's a sham and what he's really doing is he's putting young men and women out there is risking their lives.

It’s very regrettable the way we got here, and I think American weakness has been a big part of the situation. We created a void, particularly after Afghanistan. I think Putin saw an opportunity and weakness.

What’s happening in Eastern Europe is a direct result of the weakness and incompetence displayed by Joe Biden over the Afghanistan debacle, we’re seeing the enemies of this country in Eastern Europe, South China Sea, in Tehran — they’re making aggressive moves because they see a weak and incompetent commander-in-chief, and it is a shame to see President Biden react too late — too little, too late.

Number two, his rhetoric has been weak, we saw him being weak in Afghanistan and so too the rest of the world, certainly, but Vladimir Putin did, and then just recently, with Ukraine talking about a little invasion or something like that, would be something we wouldn't do anything about it. That’s very, very provocative.

But it goes back to, our adversaries and our enemies saw what happened in Afghanistan, and so they know that Biden is not going to take a strong stance militarily, and if you listen to his words carefully yesterday, he said we'll do everything that we can within our power to support our NATO allies. Well, Ukraine's not one of them. So he basically telegraphed to the Russians that whatever Putin wants to do in the Ukraine, we're not going to do anything to stop him.

I don't believe Vladimir Putin would have a couple of hundred thousand troops on the border with Ukraine had we not precipitously withdrawn from Afghanistan last August, the impression we have left, first with the abandonment of Afghanistan, is that America is not interested in playing as large a leadership role as we used to.

We all have the same pain, it doesn't matter that I am from Afghanistan, I have a different culture, different religion, what we have in common is the pain of motherhood as a human, is the same as all people.

But for the catastrophe in Afghanistan, there's not a doubt in my mind -- not a doubt in my mind -- that the Russians wouldn't be on the border of Ukraine with 100,000 or more troops, had we not indicated to the rest of the world we were pulling the plug on Afghanistan and going home.

Whether it’s not being able to afford gas or groceries because of record-high inflation, rampant crime in our cities, a dramatic spike in the trafficking of fentanyl and human exploitation across open borders, or the disgraceful lack of accountability for the death of 13 young service members in Afghanistan - these problems were self-inflicted by Joe Biden and the extreme policies of the left, pennsylvanians have had enough.

Those of us who have worked on Afghanistan know that just because they send their own daughters to school in Doha doesn't mean that they think that the rest of Afghan women should be allowed to get an education.

It is absolutely heartbreaking what is happening in Afghanistan, it's the first thing I think about when I wake up. It's the last thing I think about before I go to bed. As you say there are millions of Afghans suffering and in many ways, they're suffering, not for decisions they made but for decisions that others made.

Whether you talk about border security, whether you talk about Afghanistan withdrawal, whether you talk about the inflation challenges we have, all of those areas the grade is poor.

The failed exit from Afghanistan, the surging inflation that’s a hidden tax on everyone in this country, the highest cost of everyday living that we’ve seen in 40 years, the crisis at the border that’s not only affecting Arizona but every state with fentanyl spilling in, and now this muddled policy in Ukraine, we’ve never projected more weakness on the global stage, and there’s no real sense to his economic policy.

The administration is really leaning forward in encouraging people to leave because they simply don't want more headlines about how the administration failed a second time and left Americans stranded, part of the reason the White House is calling for Americans to leave now is because the administration is feeling snake-bitten by Afghanistan. The president told us that he was going to stay in country until we got every single American out. Obviously, that didn't happen, and we still have hundreds, maybe thousands of American citizens stranded behind enemy lines in Afghanistan.

Look at the situation. We are in a dangerous situation. He destroyed Afghanistan. He’s put us in a situation with Russia. He has no plan for Taiwan, and you’re sending our athletes over to Beijing for the Olympics, and you’ve said nothing about how you’re going to protect them when they’re over there. They’ve literally been threatened and told that if they say anything against the government they will be punished. Where’s the protection for Americans? Literally, he has failed on every level.

This is Joe Biden's White House and Joe Biden's administration, we've seen how much the president loves to blame others, but when it comes to the total failures of this administration, like skyrocketing inflation, an open border with record illegal immigration, the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan and withering American strength on the world stage, Joe Biden has no one to blame but himself.

Rick Scott

Biden presented himself as an antidote to his predecessor, offering the promise of what his own campaign ads called ‘strong, steady, stable leadership’ after four years of bedlam under President Donald Trump. But the tumult surrounding the administration’s withdrawal from Afghanistan offered an early glimpse of the cascade of crises that have badly eroded Biden’s image of restoring calm.
