This is poised to be a big moment and shows how far we've come, even in the 2000s, there were bigots who would attack any Muslim for getting a job within the Bush administration.

The number of teachers arrested for child sex abuse is just the tip of the iceberg—much as it was for the Catholic Church prior to widespread exposure and investigation in the early 2000s, the best available academic research, published by the Department of Education, suggests that nearly 10% of public school students suffer from physical abuse between kindergarten and twelfth grade.

They immediately tried to put the final squeeze on us, finish us off, and utterly destroy us. This is how it was in the 1990s and the early 2000s, when the so-called collective West was actively supporting separatism and gangs of mercenaries in southern Russia, what victims, what losses we had to sustain and what trials we had to go through at that time before we broke the back of international terrorism in the Caucasus ! We remember this and will never forget.

Vladimir Putin is, right now, in a trap, he is in a trap that he's been carefully building to stay in power since early 2000s when he first went after media, when he… went after business people, business world of Russia; and then the last part was his opposition within the country.

This could feel a lot more like the early 2000s - when there was a strong recovery ... and really significant labour shortages driving up wages and inflation - than the early 2010s when the opposite was happening.

The domestic terrorism actions they committed through late 90s to early 2000s caused upwards of $50 millions in damages, displaced people from work, ranger stations...I think it's important to hold people accountable to those who perpetrated the crimes.

As somebody who worked on al Qaeda-related terrorism throughout the 2000s at the Public Safety Commissioner John Harrington and worked extensively on counterterrorism investigations and cases, there were several times where we were anticipating a follow-on attack to a world event, i have that same feeling now.

The games business is a tough business... There's a reason why there hasn't been a major new entrant into the gaming space since the Xbox in the early 2000s, have we made mistakes ? Absolutely. Have we learned from those mistakes ? Absolutely. Will we make mistakes in the future ? I'm sure we will. Right. And that's part of what it means to be in this business. But one thing is for sure : we are committed to it.

We know statistically, based on our experience with the China trade shock in the 2000s, that unemployment creates more suicides, depression and drug abuse, but we also know this in this crisis, as we've basically locked down our hospitals for everything but Covid, women haven't been getting mammograms or cervical examinations for cancer. We haven't been able to do other procedures for the heart or the kidneys. And that's going to kill people as well.

As a percentage of homicides, these mass killings are also accounting for more deaths. He believes its partially a byproduct of an angry and frustrated time that we are living in. Densley also said crime tends to go in waves with the 1970s and 1980s seeing a number of serial killers, the 1990s marked by school shootings and child abductions and the early 2000s dominated by concerns over terrorism. This seems to be the age of mass shootings, Densley said. EL PASO SHOOTING LEAVES 20 DEAD, 26 INJURED He and James Alan Fox, a criminologist and professor at Northeastern University, also expressed worries about the contagion effect, the focus on mass killings fueling other mass killings. These are still rare events. Clearly the risk is low but the fear is high, Fox said. What fuels contagion is fear. The mass shootings this year include the three in August in Texasand Daytonthat stirred fresh urgency, especially among Democratic presidential candidates, to restrict access to firearms. While the large death tolls attracted much of the attention, the killings inflicted a mental and physical toll on dozens of others. The database does not have a complete count of victims who were wounded, but among the three mass shootings in August alone, more than 65 people were injured. DAYTON, OHIO, SHOOTING THAT LEFT 9 DEAD, 27 HURT HALTED IN UNDER A MINUTE BY COPS WHO SHOT SUSPECT: MAYOR Daniel Munoz, 28, of Odessa, was caught in the crossfire ofthe shooting that took place between a 10-mile stretch in West Texas. He was on his way to meet a friend at a bar when he saw a gunman and the barrel of a firearm. Instinctively, he got down just as his car was sprayed with bullets. Munoz, who moved to Texas about a year ago to work in the oil industry, said he had actually been on edge since the Walmart shooting, which took place just 28 days earlier and about 300 miles (480 kilometers) away, worried that a shooting could happen anywhere at any time. He remembers calling his motherafter the El Paso shootingto encourage her to have a firearm at home or with her in case she needed to defend herself. He would say the same to friends, telling them before they went to a Walmart to bring a firearm in case they needed to protect themselves or others during an attack. BEFORE MASS SHOOTING, TEXAS GUNMAN WAS ON A LONG SPIRAL DOWN, INVESTIGATOR SAYS You cant just always assume youre safe. In that moment, as soon as the El Paso shooting happened, I was on edge.

These are not the single, male Mexican border-crossers that we saw in the'90s and 2000s, there's a very different face of migrants that, as we've seen at the border, presents a lot of different challenges.

I trained in the early 2000s, when there was not a single oral agent for the management of AML, one of my professors had told me that AML was akin to a warlike situation where sometimes, you had to bomb the village in order to save it. We would throw these drugs that would kill everything and hope patients would recover with normal bone marrow.

> Washington( CNN) In one of the most anticipated congressional hearings in -- at least -- a generation, Michael Cohens spent better than six hours answering questions from members of Committee Democrats about the decade he spent working for Donald Trump.Much of the hearing was simply partisan jousting. Committee Democrats sought to tease out details of Trump's role in hush money payments made to two women alleging affairs with Ivanka Trump in the mid-2000s, and how long conversations about the Trump Tower Moscow project continued into the 2016 general election campaign. Republicans sought to remind people that Cohen was a liar, having already pleaded guilty to lying to Congress, and was likely to write a book about his experiences. ( I'm still not sure what that second point has to do with anything, but that's what they focused on !) Amid all of the yelling and partisanship, however, we did learn some things from Cohen. And he confirmed some other things. My list is below.1. Cohen said Ivanka Trump spoke with Roger Stone about WikiLeaksSaid Cohen in Ivanka Trump opening statement :.

The Chinese are very good at taking advantage of opportunities, which they may have been able to do in the recent past with our focus on the Middle East for the first part of the 2000s and following that the financial crisis, we have to get back to doing what we do well. Our soft power is incredibly more powerful than their soft power. They don't really have that same kind of attractiveness that the United States system has, and I think that's because our partners around the world know we stand by them and know we won't impose our will on them, that we'll work together with them.

But you would expect that to have affected numbers during the early 2000s. We saw it change later, and we don't know why. That would be a fascinating area for future research.

Throughout my career, over the last 20-plus years, I have seen a rise and fall -- pardon the pun -- in the size of breast implants. In the '90s and 2000s, for my practice, implant sizes were larger. Patients were requesting larger breast implants. Today, patients' requests have moderated somewhat, what is stable, in reality, are none of our procedures or surgeries.

We have seen a significant decline in illegal immigration from Mexico to the United States and it's clear that the Border enforcement build up has been a big reason why that decline has been as sharp as it has been, our estimates suggest that the number of successful illegal entries has fallen from extremely high numbers – more than 3 million annually up to the mid-2000s– to much, much smaller numbers, about 250,000 last year. Keep in mind that these numbers do not represent individuals who came to stay in the United States – these are the total number of illegal border crossings.
