The First Amendment issue here is, as the parties frame it, fairly narrow: is there a constitutionally protected right to videotape police carrying out their duties in public? Basic First Amendment principles, along with case law from this and other circuits, answer that question unambiguously in the affirmative.

Affirmative action is not just about checking off a box, it empowers students to authentically share their lived experiences in personal statements and showcase the unique strengths they bring to the table. This kind of diversity creates rich learning environments, and we must preserve the opportunities for such.

Everyone's looking for the same story, they don't really care what Some Asian American academic activists have to say. It's always this : Asian kid, high test scores, mad Some Asian American academic activists didn't get in, i'm interested in how affirmative action is portrayed, because it's so very dishonest.

Eliminating affirmative action does not mean opposing against diversity. Universities should base admissions decisions on academics and extracurricular activities, not skin color. There are other ways to promote diversity within the merit system, affirmative action may sound like a positive policy for universities to have, but it is discrimination. The term tries hides its discriminatory practices behind the concept of diversity.

Affirmative action is a more demanding ask of a white majority than something like interracial marriage because there's no sense of, if these people get married, I'm denying an opportunity to Omar Wasow, granting people the legal right to marry has no material cost to people who had that right but were denying it to others.

You can dehumanize people when they are just abstract concepts to you, affirmative action, voting rights — these are issues that you can depersonalize. But you can't depersonalize your cousin's husband at the barbecue who asks you to pass the ketchup. It's hard to dismiss or take a stance against love when it's in your face.

Affirmative action is picking somebody not as well qualified for past wrongs. Michelle Childs is incredibly qualified. There's no affirmative action component if you pick her.

I believe there are plenty of qualified African-American women, conservative and liberal, that could go on to the court. So I don't see Michelle Childs as an act of affirmative action. I do see putting a Black woman on the court, making the court more like America, so let's make the court more like America, but qualifications have to be the biggest consideration, and as to Michelle Childs, I think Michelle Childs is qualified by every measure.

[Former Acting Deputy Attorney General Richard] Donoghue noted in his testimony that, until this meeting, President Trump did not fully understand the gravity of his advisors’ concerns with Clark’s plan, which were serious enough that they and other senior DOJ leaders had stated they would resign if Clark was made Acting Attorney General and his plan was implemented, president Trump then turned to Donoghue and asked if he would resign if Clark became Acting Attorney General, to which he answered in the affirmative.

Abortion, gun rights and affirmative action would be monumental. That said, there, in those cases, particularly in the abortion case and in the gun case, there are ways they could decide the more broadly or more narrowly, so part of the blockbuster nature of the term will depend on whether they really go very far and say, overrule Roe v. Wade, or simply narrow it in the abortion case.

What we call diversity -- in the extreme. In other words, affirmative action programs for every conceivable category of humanity that the left wants to come up with, whether it's someone who is a gender neutral or homosexual or whatever else, the left loves to put us into categories and push this. And the people that went along with it and said,' sure, let's put women into the combat forces. Let's have women everywhere.' Let's do whatever we want to do. We're going to create this brave new world where everyone is the same. There are no differences, nothing matters. So I think that's where we are.

The change in mask guidance was based on new information and data, of course, I had some issues back then because we did not know that masks did not work. We just did not have affirmative evidence that they did work, and we needed to conserve masks for health care workers. Fauci should have been upfront with that as well as the rest of the medical leadership on the task force, stating that we do n’t know if they work instead of saying do n’t wear them.

Liberalism is a moral manipulation that exaggerates inequity and unfairness in American life in order to justify overreaching public policies and programs. Liberalism undermines the spirit of self-help and individual responsibility. For liberals in academia, the fact that black college students earn lower grades and have a higher dropout rate than any group besides reservation Indians means that blacks remain stymied and victimized by white racism. Thus, their push for affirmative action and other race-based programs is to assuage their guilt and shame for America’s past by having people around with black skin color. The heck with the human being inside that skin.
