Wikipedia
texted
Text messaging, or texting, is the act of composing and sending electronic messages, typically consisting of alphabetic and numeric characters, between two or more users of mobile devices, desktops/laptops, or another type of compatible computer. Text messages may be sent over a cellular network, or may also be sent via satellite or Internet connection. The term originally referred to messages sent using the Short Message Service (SMS). It has grown beyond alphanumeric text to include multimedia messages using the Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) containing digital images, videos, and sound content, as well as ideograms known as emoji (happy faces, sad faces, and other icons), and instant messenger applications (usually the term is used when on mobile devices). Text messages are used for personal, family, business and social purposes. Governmental and non-governmental organizations use text messaging for communication between colleagues. In the 2010s, the sending of short informal messages became an accepted part of many cultures, as happened earlier with emailing. This makes texting a quick and easy way to communicate with friends, family and colleagues, including in contexts where a call would be impolite or inappropriate (e.g., calling very late at night or when one knows the other person is busy with family or work activities). Like e-mail and voicemail and unlike calls (in which the caller hopes to speak directly with the recipient), texting does not require the caller and recipient to both be free at the same moment; this permits communication even between busy individuals. Text messages can also be used to interact with automated systems, for example, to order products or services from e-commerce websites, or to participate in online contests. Advertisers and service providers use direct text marketing to send messages to mobile users about promotions, payment due dates, and other notifications instead of using postal mail, email, or voicemail.

Examples of texted in a Sentence
Doing things the right way, it sounds easy, but it’s not easy to do, and so I’m trying my best. And again, maybe sometime in the offseason I’ll have time to think about all this. I will tell you I walked by, and I saw Henry’s locker today and for whatever reason that got me. Like he’s not going to be there. Not because he’s fast, not because of what he can do for me, but because of the person that he is and because I love him, i mean he literally texted me at midnight of a golf swing, me and Hunter (Renfrow), ‘How’s my swing look? You guys need to help me.’ Just seeing that and then getting the news when we woke up. How am I supposed to handle that? How am I supposed to react? And I’m trying my best and doing my best, but I do know that God is good and I’m going to believe that he can change situations and do things we just can’t comprehend sometimes, and I’m going to continue to believe that and my kids will believe that and we’ll keep preaching that even when people don’t like it.
I have reached out to Courtney Stodden. I texted Courtney Stodden.
Oprah Winfrey is just mindblowing, she gives me goose bumps ... A couple of days ago, she texted me to say she was in Paris and coming to the show. My blood drained from my body.
I saw the family checking their house on Friday and the crack was not as bad. I went back Monday and noticed that it had gotten worse, so I texted( the homeowner) about it.
I mainly texted my loved ones, and a couple of minutes after that I just heard rapid gunfire.
