Taking Over
Taking Over is the second studio album by thrash metal band Overkill, released in March 1987 through Atlantic Records and Megaforce Records. It was the last Overkill album to feature drummer Rat Skates, who would leave the band later that year and be replaced with Sid Falck. It was also the first to be released through Atlantic Records as well as the first to enter the Billboard 200 chart, reaching #191 and remaining charted for a week. "In Union We Stand" was the song chosen to be Overkill's first music video. It, along with "Wrecking Crew", have been played at almost every Overkill show to date, with the latter being considered one of the band's signature songs. A tour of Europe followed the album's release, opening for power metal band Helloween. As of 2006, Taking Over had sold almost 40,000 copies in the U.S. since the beginning of the SoundScan era.
