Spitalfield
Spitalfield was an American rock band from Chicago, Illinois signed to Victory Records. Formed in 1998, Spitalfield caught the attention of Victory Records with their 2002 release The Cloak And Dagger Club EP and a year later released their follow-up, Remember Right Now. The band sold over 130,000 records and performed in nine countries over three continents before disbanding at the end of 2007. Spitalfield derived their band name from Spitalfields, a section of London's East End where Jack the Ripper lived. The band announced their breakup and subsequent goodbye tour on September 10, 2007. Their last official show was December 23, 2007 at 'The Metro', in Chicago, Illinois. Since the breakup, lead vocalist Mark Rose has pursued a solo singer/songwriter career, playing more of a progressive pop and blues sound. He released his first full-length album, Wonderful Trouble, independently on July 5, 2011. The album was produced by Sean O'Keefe, who worked with Spitalfield on their 2003 release, Remember Right Now. His second album The Wild Type was released on September 15, 2015 on InVogue Records, Other former Spitalfield members JD Romero and TJ Milici play together in the band Thrillage. Daniel Lowder is not currently active. In the summer of 2010, Spitalfield performed a few reunion shows. On June 2, 2010, they played a surprise short set at Angels & Kings in Chicago, followed by two sold out shows at The Beat Kitchen on August 27 and 28, 2010. The band then played a secret show on October 6, 2012 at Santos Party House in New York City, under the name The Cloak & Dagger Club (the name of the band's first EP).On April 17, 2013, Spitalfield announced they would be reuniting their original lineup for a tour in commemoration of 10 years since the release of Remember Right Now.
