  1. snaffnoun

'snaff' is the scrap resulting from the perforated tear-off edges of the (increasingly obsolete) paper used in computer LINE PRINTERS... generally such strips of perforated paper are only referred to as "snaff" after they are torn off and crumpled up for disposal (or recycling...)

Please, all of the SNAFF goes in that separate bin, not the regular trash. I save all the snaff to start my charcoal grill, no lighter fluid needed... hey, re-use IS recycling, lol...

Etymology: Not sure, but prob. mainframe computer printer rooms of the 1970s-1980s...
