The word 'Situe' is used within the arts world in the phrase; "In situe" which means 'in a situation' ... 'in its place'. This means the artwork succesfully depicts a specific time/location. It can also mean the artwork was created to be displayed at a specific time/*location.
*An example of this, is Michelangelo's David. It was inicially created to be placed on the roof of Florence Cathedral, that's why its anatomical proportions are top heavy (the head is too big). He deliberatly did this because, when viewed from below (at street level) it would look perfect. It's now 'out of situe' in the Accademia Gallery of Florence.
