Wikipedia
rebounds
'Rebound' is a term used in sports to describe the ball (or puck or other object of play) becoming available for possession by either opponent after an attempt to put the ball or puck into the goal has been unsuccessful. Rebounds are generally considered to be a major part of the game, as they often lead either to a possession change or to a second (and often better) opportunity to score by the side whose initial attempt failed. In sports such as basketball and netball, the term is also used as either noun or verb to describe the successful retrieval of the ball in that circumstance. In sports that have an assigned goalkeeper or goaltender, after that player makes a save, they may (and if they are able, usually should) then retain immediate possession of the ball or puck themselves, thus preventing a rebound from occurring.

James played the same way he always plays... the same way he was playing in Houston. Handling the ball, being a past-first guard, trying to get his guys good looks, coach put him at the point... I think that’s his natural position. Point, combo guard. For him to come out and get 14 assists, 12 rebounds for us at the point guard was key.
You can take all the points off the board, the rebounds, the steals — this game was won off our will, we just didn’t want to lose. We knew what it felt like to lose in a close game to Stanford. We were just not losing today. That was our mentality. That’s what won us the game — our mentality, our will and a girl named Mya Hollingshed.
A good man may fall, but he falls like a ball [and rebounds]; the ignoble man falls like a lump of clay.
The Celtics coach Brad Stevens said. Jaylen Brown had 21 points and Jason Tatum added 15 for The Celtics. Joel Embiid had 30 points and 13 rebounds to lead the 76ers. They shot 29.5 % from the field. I dont want to be swept.
