Examples of re-wired in a Sentence

  1. Waljit Dhillo:

So many people say to themselves, ‘It’s just me. I’ve got a problem.’ But actually, HSDD may be how your brain is wired, the biology is telling us there’s increased activation of inhibitory areas in the brain — the same areas that tell us it’s not OK to walk around in public naked — and those areas are switching off sexual desire. How can we tackle that? We give a hormone that would naturally give you increased sexual desire, essentially hijacking the normal system.

  2. Jazmin Kay:

I am 23 years old and have lived through more unprecedented historical events than I can count. From 9/11, to extreme weather events, living in a continual state of economic recession, losing family members to a global pandemic, or seeing the United States Capitol ransacked by right-wing domestic terrorists. In all of these things, the first-hand experience of young people is invaluable. There's no way to fully understand that unless you have lived that, our brains are wired to be curious right now and to want to think of solutions.

  3. Dannielle Miller:

Teenagers are wired to feel emotional and to feel almost obsessive about things, and passionate and impulsive. So it makes sense biologically that they are this entrenched in 1D.

  4. Robert Leahy:

I believe there will be increasing non-compliance that is simply due to human nature, even when there's not a pandemic we, as a species, tend to make decisions that negatively affect our public health based on our immediate need, whether it's smoking, alcohol abuse, drug abuse, overeating, overspending... we are wired to look for immediate gratification. Remember, we were once scavengers. That's why this is very hard.

  5. Mitesh Patel:

There is a large body of evidence in behavioral economics that has looked at ways of framing, it's the way our brains are wired that we tend to avoid wanting to lose things more than the benefit we get from gaining them. It makes people think like the money is theirs to lose from day one. By having skin in the game, it makes people more motivated, and we think we can leverage that in these types of programs.
