I grew up in an environment where we were free, we could go to school, we could go out and about, my mother tells stories of her bitter time (under the Taliban). Those stories are frightening.
The improved economy may be one factor, with more driving, more traffic, and more road users out and about in general, more people may be walking because of the education efforts in recent years surrounding health and fitness. We can only speculate on this question.
I think it's clear over the summer months we had children mingling playing out and about, many children are now congregating in preschool and obviously grade school environments -- high schools too. So we also know they're involved in extracurricular activities and getting together socially and playing.
Everybody wants to know -- am I immune ? Can I now visit Grandma so that I'm not a threat to her and she's not a threat to me ? how do we discern the people who can now safely go out and about ? That's an important personal and social question.
The sad part is, though, that the more they're out and about, the more likely they are to spread Covid-19.
