moonage
A word invented by David Bowie in 1971; for the song Moonage Daydream, from the concept album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars (it's not as daft as it sounds - in fact, it's amazing! I recommend you read the explanation and listen to it in order.) Bowie was obsessed with space, and moonage probably means moon-age - the age of moon travel... but we never went back... up there with Iggy, Ziggy, the Spiders, Starman, Spaceboy and Bowie the alien (joke). Is there life on Mars???!!!
