Wikipedia

  1. Lalor

Lalor is an Irish surname derived from the Irish Ó Leathlobhair, from leath- “side, part; half” and lobhar “leper; weak, ailing person”. It has also been anglicised as O'Lalor, O'Lawlor, Lawlor and Lawler. Leathlobhar was the name of two early kings of Ulaid, whose family is extinct, according to MacLysaght (1957) and Woulfe (1923). The extant family are relations of the O'Moores, who were chiefs of Loígis. This family was listed as one of the ‘seven septs of Leix’ (secht Loíchsi Lagen literally “seven Laoisí of Leinster”). The name is still commonly found around the midlands of Ireland especially County Laois. It is not, as some people have claimed, of Norse origin.
