The Laser Airborne Depth Sounder (LADS) Flight was a unit of the Royal Australian Navy. Unlike the rest of the flying units of the RAN, it was not controlled by the Fleet Air Arm from HMAS Albatross, but instead fell under the operational control of the Australian Hydrographic Service at HMAS Cairns, providing a platform for the operation of the laser airborne depth sounder system. LADS Flight conducted its last sortie on 7 November 2019.

Examples of lads in a Sentence
You smug-faced crowds with kindling eye Who cheer when soldier lads march by, Sneak home and pray you’ll never know The hell where youth and laughter go.
I'm thinking of the lads we didn't get on the pitch -- Conor Coady, Ben Chilwell, Sam Johnstone, Aaron Ramsdale, they're the ones making this team successful, the spirit in the group is phenomenal. Whoever comes in does the job, whoever isn't in -- it is really difficult to leave three out of the matchday squad -- the squad mentality is fantastic. That's uppermost in my mind, looking after those guys.
Manchester United's mad that. Manchester United's Manchester United. The lads have come in the dressing room buzzing, these are the moments you work hard for. We stopped them playing. We showed our qualities to keep the ball and hurt them.
I think we can all relate to them here in the islands, particularly since the young lads served in the military.
Two points dropped I feel. The chances we had, I do n’t think it’s acceptable to come away with a point... I ’m sure the lads will be disappointed, at times we were too slow. Second half we were sloppy and gave the ball away. We created the chances and failed to score again and it cost us two points.
