    The terms geoponic and geoponics refers to simple husbandry; where in agricultural practice it connotes the breeding and raising of animals. The terms geoponic and geoponics in farming practice, refer to growing plants in normal soil. This usage is mainly found when soil growing is contrasted with techniques such as hydroponics, where the plants are grown in water, or aeroponics, where plants are grown suspended in air. The term originated as the Greek word for farming.
