    The GAIA Theory replaced The Gaia Hypothesis in 1991 when Geologist held their yearly conference in San Diego to acknowledge the work of James Lovelock. At that conference they elevated the The Gaia Hypothesis to The GAIA Theory, opening the way for all Scientists to now seriously consider this idea for worthy of resorceces (Time, Energy, Money, etc.) to attempt a serious effort to find flaws in the new GAIA Theory. Since then, Many have calmed to have proven the Theory seriously flawed, but their inappropriate attempts to belittle the Theory have been ignored by most Serious Scientists studying Geophysiology (UK & EU) and Earth Systems Science (USA) Please see the definitions for Geophysiology and Earth Systems Science for a more complete definitions.
