elm street pirus
The East Side (E/S) Elm Street Piru are an African-American street gang whose roots can be traced back to the eastern section of Compton, California. This gang was started by O.G. Bartender in 1984 and has the distinction of being one of the largest Piru sets next to the Mob Piru. The Elm Street Pirus were once a clique under the Lueders Park Piru, but soon branched off and became their own set. As with most other Blood sets under the Piru card, Elm Street Pirus wear burgundy as their color. They are also known to wear red to show their affiliation to the Bloods and brown to symbolize the bark of an Elm tree. Members of this gang claim “East Side” to show that they're a Piru set from the east side of Compton. They are also known to use the term “356%” to show their affiliation because "356" is the numeric dial “Elm” on a touch dial phone. Their territory lies adjacent to the Lueders Park Piru, who they share a long ajd friendly history with. Other allies include the Cedar Block Piru and the Fruit Town Pirus. They are rivals to all Crips, with their biggest rivalries being with the South Side Compton Crips, Duccy Hood Compton Crips, Santana Blocc Compton Crips and the Kelly Park Compton Crips. The Elms are also enemies of a gang under the Mexican Mafia called the Compton Varrio Tortilla Flats.
