Examples of eastland in a Sentence

When I say I love Eastland, it sounds preposterous--a man who brutalizes people. But *you* love him or you wouldn't be here. You're going to Mississippi to create social change--and you love Eastland in your desire to create conditions which will redeem his children. Loving your enemy is manifest in putting your arms not around the man but around the social situation, to take power from those who misuse it--at which point they can become human too.

And we had to put up with the likes of like Jim Eastland and Hermy Talmadge and all those segregationists and all of that. 3. Kate Bedingfield:

The story the vice president was telling was about how awful the segregationist views of Jim Eastland and Herman Talmadge were, the entire point of the story was that they held views that were repugnant to him and that was reflected in the way they talked.

I was in a caucus with James Eastland. James Eastland never called me' boy,' James Eastland always called me' son,' well, guess what ? At least there was some civility. We got things done. We didn't agree on much of anything. We got things done. We got it finished.
