confluctionnoun
A confluction is a congruence of some parts of reality with a new part of reality, which is not actually reality but is experienced as a form of reality to the mind. It is unreal, exists in fantasy, in situations such as video games, movies, where, for example, cities are destroyed. It is thought that this may account for some features of modern day thinking where fake news or various distortions of events are thought of as real, such as elections being stolen, votes being fabricated, vaccinations being poisonous, so that such events are portrayed as real in many news features and are believed by many influential people as true although they are not real.
There is a confluction of reality when people think that an election is stolen, since it is impossible to actually steal votes or steal an election, although it is possible for corruption to occur so that there can be a serious case of misrepresentation in elections that is portrayed by influential people as reality.
Etymology: Obsolete but related to confluence, or a coming together, but in ways that are a mixture of the actual and the unreal, but which are portrayed as real.
