Bassano
Bassano is a town in Alberta, Canada. It is located on the Trans-Canada Highway approximately 140 kilometres east of Calgary and 160 kilometres northwest of Medicine Hat. It is also on the main line of the Canadian Pacific Railway. A short distance south of the town is the Bassano Dam, which serves as a reservoir for nearby communities and for the irrigation of the vast farm and ranch lands surrounding Bassano.

Bassano
The better known, indeed to most people the only proper, name of the famous Italian artist, Jacopa da Ponte, who signed all his pictures “Il Bassano,” having been born at Bassano in the state of Venice.
