Awaken
Awaken is an underground rock band / indie music project based in Belgium. They released two official albums and numerous demo tapes and web-only singles since their early days in 1988. Not related to the modern Belgian scene at all, Awaken gained interest from Vietnamese people since the release of a Vietnamese song and legend, "Chú Mèo Ngủ Quên", and in Japan with the virtual EP "別府NIGHTS". Recently, a cover of a Vietnamese children song "Rửa Mặt Như Mèo" has been recorded and has been heard on Vietnamese internet, though not officially released. Since 2005, Awaken is part of the team of the indies Japanese label It's Oh! Music based in Miyazaki city.

Examples of awaken in a Sentence
That erroneous assumption is to the effect that the aim of public education is to fill the young of the species with knowledge and awaken their intelligence, and so make them fit to discharge the duties of citizenship in an enlightened and independent manner. Nothing could be further from the truth. The aim of public education is not to spread enlightenment at all, it is simply to reduce as many individuals as possible to the same safe level, to breed and train a standardized citizenry, to put down dissent and originality. That is its aim in the United States, whatever the pretensions of politicians, pedagogues and other such mountebanks, and that is its aim everywhere else.
Awaken the sleep, protect the weak, and guide the strong.
Chief Investment Officer Scott Minerd:
While I concur with my colleagues here in Davos that a synchronized global slowdown is underway, fears of recession are overblown, if anything, the outlook is brightening as policymakers are beginning to awaken to the mounting risks arising from a protracted trade war and increasing nationalism.
It would also awaken every American to this simple fact: if this scourge has not found you or your family yet, without bold action by everyone, it soon will, you, Mr. President, are the only person who can bring this type of intensity to the emergency, and we believe you have the will to do so and to do so immediately.
A lot of times, it's sitting under your nose and they don't recognize it, there's always a possibility that people will awaken and recognize that just what they were asking for, I have presented for them -- someone who is honest. They can't find any scandals. All the lies that have been told have been debunked.
