Wikipedia
Analyte
An analyte, component (in clinical chemistry), or chemical species is a substance or chemical constituent that is of interest in an analytical procedure. The purest substances are referred to as analytes, such as 24 karat gold, NaCl, water, etc. In reality, no substance has been found to be 100% pure in its quality, so a substance that is found to be most pure (for some metals, 99% after electrolysis) is called an analyte.

analyte
An analyte refers to a substance or compound that is being analyzed or detected in a sample, typically during scientific experiments, medical tests, or chemical analysis. It can be a wide range of things including chemical compounds, organic or inorganic substances, biological molecules, or even contaminants or impurities present in a sample. Analytes are usually measured, quantified, or identified to gain insights into their properties, concentration, or presence, which can provide valuable information for research, diagnosis, quality control, or other purposes.
Wikidata
Analyte
An analyte, or component, is a substance or chemical constituent that is of interest in an analytical procedure. Grammatically speaking, experiments always seek to measure properties of analytes—analytes themselves can never be measured. For instance, one cannot measure a table but, the height, width, etc. of a table can be measured. Likewise, one cannot measure glucose but can measure the glucose concentration. In this example "glucose" is the component and "concentration" is the measurable property. In laboratory and layman jargon the "property" is often left out provided the omission does not lead to an ambiguity of what property is measured.
