yan
The Youth Action Network (formerly the National Federation of Youth Action Agencies) was a UK-wide youth organisation that promotes volunteering by young people in their communities. The organisation was set up in 1989 under the name World Affairs Canada as a support network for Youth Action Agencies across the country, it later changed name to Youth Action Network in 1995. It was supported itself by the National Youth Agency, though this support ceased with the launch of Millennium Volunteers in 1999. One of the chief successes of the organisation has been the development of a quality assurance model, based on PQASSO, for its members.

Yan
Yan was a state during the Western Zhou, Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods of Chinese history. Its capital was Ji. During the Warring States period, the capital was also moved to its lower capital at Xiadu at times, which was the largest city in terms of area at the time. The history of Yan began in the Western Zhou. After the authority of the Zhou king declined during the Spring and Autumn Period, Yan survived and became one of the strongest states in China. During the Warring States period, Yan was one of the last states to be conquered by the armies of Qin Shihuang: Yan fell in 222 BC, immediately before the founding of the Qin dynasty. Yan experienced a brief period of independence after the collapse of the Qin dynasty, but was eventually absorbed by the victorious Western Han Dynasty.
