Whispers
Whispers (Gettin' Louder)" is a song written by Barbara Acklin and David Scott, recorded and released by Jackie Wilson in 1966. The single peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. It features instrumentation by the Funk Brothers and backing vocals by The Andantes. The song's B-side, "(Far from) The Fairest of Them All", was written by Buddy Scott and Jimmy Radcliffe and originally intended for presentation to Ray Charles.

Whispers is a novel by American suspense author Dean Koontz, originally published in 1980. It was the first of Koontz's novels to appear on the New York Times Bestsellers List, and is widely credited with launching his career as a best-selling author. The novel was also adapted for a 1990 film by the same name.
