Wikipedia
Trifon
Trifon was a Serbian icon painter who lived and worked in the second half of 18th century Slavonia, then part of the Habsburg Monarchy.Painter Trifon is the author of the iconostases from the villages of Donja Rašenica (1769) and Lisičine (1780). Trifon worked in Slavonia much more than it was previously assumed. It can be said, with greater certainty, that the iconostases in the villages of Sirač (around 1782) and Treštanovci (around 1778) are now attributed to him. Trifon had a group of associates who worked with him on all the iconostases, though he was ultimately responsible for the completed work. The collection of works by Trifon includes icons both preserved or known from archived sources from the villages of Latinovac, Daruvarski Brestovac, and Jasenaš, as well as from the collection of the Eparchy of Slavonia. The consideration of iconographic and painterly attributes of the preserved icons confirmed the previous presumptions about the painter Trifon and his associates as the followers of the schemes introduced by the Ukrainian painter Vasilije Romanovich in the Eparchy of Pakrac-Slavonia in the middle of the 18th century.
