Survival
Survival, or the act of surviving, is the propensity of something to continue existing, particularly when this is done despite conditions that might kill or destroy it. The concept can be applied to humans and other living things (or, hypothetically, any sentient being), to physical object, and to abstract things such as beliefs or ideas. Living things generally have a self-preservation instinct to survive, while objects intended for use in harsh conditions are designed for survivability.

Survival is the fourth and final serial of the 26th season in the British science fiction television series Doctor Who, which was first broadcast in three parts, weekly, from 22 November to 6 December 1989. It was the final story of the original 26-year run of the series to be transmitted on BBC One, marking the final regular television appearance of Anthony Ainley as the Master and of Sophie Aldred as Ace. It is also the last to entirely feature Sylvester McCoy as the Seventh Doctor.
